Building Permits Up In Month of August Across Indiana
Thursday, October 3, 2019

The number of single-family home building permits issued in August was up slightly from July.

The one percent increase was still 6% below the number of permits pulled in August of last year, and 5% for the year.

Indiana Builder’s Association CEO Rick Wajda said he expects the slight uptick to continue into the Autumn months. Affordability and a statewide labor shortage remain issues for builders.

The National Association of Builders says housing permits are on the upswing nationally since the Spring.
