UAW Talks With General Motors Continue, Locals Feel Effect
Tuesday, September 17, 2019

As talks between the United Auto Workers Union and General Motors continued on Monday, the strike among its workers is having an impact all across the country.

The strike itself has shut down plants all across the United States, including the truck assembly plant in Fort Wayne but the effect does not stop there. Indiana itself has more than 400 suppliers in GM’s supply chain and the Indiana manufacturers association says depending on how long the strike lasts and how much of each company’s business is GM related, they’re going to start to feel the pinch.

Reports indicate that some workers at the Fort Wayne assembly plant have already been laid-off as a result of the strike.
