Chilcote Placed Into Custody

On Friday, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance of the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office, with an investigation in regards to suspect and wanted subject, Vincent Chilcote.

At around 12:00 PM on Friday, the LaGrange County Communications received a tip that Chilcote was possibly seen at this residence at the 10000 E block of US 20 in LaGrange. After an extensive search of the area, Chilcote could not be located. Chilcote had warrants out of LaGrange County, Steuben County, and Noble, along with the recent events stemming in Steuben County and was considered armed and dangerous. The investigation continued, as the Sheriff's Office remained committed to the safety of the citizens and were asking for the public's assistance with the locating and apprehending of this wanted fugitive.

Assisting the LaGrange County Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Indiana State Police, Steuben County Sheriff's Office, the LaGrange City Police, Angola City Police, Topeka Police, Ashley-Hudson Police, Clear Lake Police, Indiana Conservations Officers, Ligonier Police Department, Orland Police Department, Shipshewana Police Department, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, LaGrange County EMS and various other agencies.

On Saturday at 7:30 A.M. the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call that wanted Fugitive, Vincent Chilcote was again at the 10000 E block of US 20 in LaGrange, IN and Officers were able to go to the residence and take Chilcote into custody without further incident. Thanks to the public’s assistance, Chilcote was located and housed in the Steuben County Jail after seeking treatment for injuries sustained during the incident he was involved with in Steuben County on Friday.
